Karma? Huh? Wassup wiff dat? I am attempting to find some simple means to let Carl know of a weird, and most singular, thing that happens to my posts when they reach a "certain" and, for now, unknown number of characters, or perhaps lines of text? It seems that when I've responded to, or originated, posts to the forums that once I pass 18 lines of text, that last line will begin to lay a "Bobble Boy" trip on me! The line will jump up and down, and when in the "Down" mode, is invisible to me, and I am unable to read those characters that I am typing.... WHen I grab the mouse and attempt to steady the line of text, using that righthand side vertical slot, the last line will, often as not tho, stop jumping around, and I am then able to read it. I have never, ever, before experienced a similar glitch in any kind of message composition... Believe me, after spending more than 25 years employed as a Navy Radioman, I have typed millions of characters, composed hundreds of thousands of messages, transmitting them via morse code, speed key, FSK @ 60 & 100 WPM, and later, with the advent of satellite communication devices, passed messages from 500 feet under the water, to 40K feet above sea level, and at speeds again, of 100WPM, thru 500K WPM, from a nuclear submarine to another nuclear submarine, and once, directly to POTUS, via an early EHF SATCOM channel. OK.. Carl, here it be.. 17 lines of text..No Problema..The 18th line of text is the jumpin' bean.... Prolly didn't solve anything, but is anyone else having similar problems writing text beyond 17 lines???

one two three It's YOUR message block! How in the heck could MY machine be acting like this? four five Well, I believe in Indian Rain Dancing, VooDoo Dolls, and that often our dreams are six but snapshots of real events... Past, present, & future... seven eight nine ten eleva twelve thirteen fourteen Looks like one of the things we'll see applied once a national medical program femten is instituted, is that anyone NOT carrying medical insurance will be subject to sexten fines. These fines will be predicated upon an individuals income. Hmmmmm? seventeen Children, to age 18, free??? eighteen Yup! It's doing it!!!! the line above is the last line I am able to read... nineteen...this line is jumpin' up and down, and it is below the text box... ....and heck aren't people who drive w/o auto insurance also subject to a fine? That'll work!

OK, let me change the text size on my browser.
Ho, boy, that is small! Let me make my browser text big...
Now that is too big!
OK, I'll cut this and paste it into another broswser. I'm posting this one with good old Firefox...

Wow... Good job, Carl! A little bit of what we called "Easter Egging" back in my service tech days... Keep trying different stuff, swapping out cards, jiggle the power cords, kick it.... Often the furthest thing from your mind, or the tech manual's flow chart, will work to get a piece of equip back on line.. (Before the skipper has to come into Radio, to ask questions...) Since I only use IE, and recently did the IE-8 dance, I would never have discovered this problem of IE interference, and your software... Doncha just love it when stuff like this comes together? When I have my new machine installed, would you recommend the Chrome stuff? Or should I stay away from IE with the new machine altogether, and do chrome, or firefox, or?

one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen nineteen twenty twnety one! yeah!!!! I'm using IE 8 with no problems! The fix is in IE not the forum. Well I guess I could re-write some forum code but since all other browsers work well and IE already has a built in fix I'd rather not hack someone else's program. 1) In IE 8 select the gear icon (tools menu item) 2) Then select Compatability View Settings 3) A form comes up where you can enter a single website or check the box to run in compatability mode for all sites I can't see why not select the box so IE works in all sites So I did. Microsoft obviously knows they are not compatable with some sites so they had to add this option. Crazy Why not just fix their browser
