The economy is so bad, that I bought a toaster oven and my free gift with purchase was a bank. Kiss

The economy is so bad, Obama met with three small businesses to discuss his Stimulus Plan — GM, AIG, and Citigroup.  Cheesy

Speaking of the economy....

This may fit here?

Last Thursday our house A/C croaked. I called a Nat'l name A/C tech Friday.  I knew from a neighbor, that this fellow did "side jobs."    He sked us for today!

Well, no problem... We're retired... 0900 the HVAC man arrives.  Coffee?  No, but
thanks.  "Where's your compressor?"  Outside to the compressor. Spin-tite out,
cover off.  Ouch.. Two horribly burned & blackened wires to start capacitor.  Wire
cutters out, strippers and wire nuts out, new capacitor from truck, system check,
cover back on, thanks very much! Grin The damage?  $60.00. That was exactly about $4 per minute... (exactly about?)  Great job; he knew what he was doing. I will call him in future, and recommend him to others! The last time we thought we had a problem, I called our largest, local, HVAC repair service. 'Ya know the kind; family owned since 1947, everyone smiling and waving at you from their TV spot. Well, that fellow wanted to replace the start cap, and the fill valve....for $710.00.   That was over 2 years ago, and so now, I really needed the cap replaced, and the fill valve certainly was not leaking! The system pressure reading was in the top end of the green scale, on his gauge set...
And here I thought decent service people could no longer be found!
