Wife said she saw one of our cats dead by the side of the road the other day.  She called our neighbor to move the body, so our daughter wouldn't see it when she came home on the schoolbus.

The neighbor couldn't find the dead cat, though.

Then the cat we thought was missing showed back up that evening.  So either my wife saw another cat (which the buzzards then carried off), or the cat she saw wasn't dead.  Either way, it was a relief.  We have too many cats, but I'd hate to lose one of them.  We've already lost one to the road.  We have a fenced-in yard that keeps the dogs in, but cats ignore fences and like to wander around in the road.  There is not a huge amount of traffic on the road, but the traffic there is comes on pretty fast.

Our senior dog is going blind, with cataracts in his eye.  One eye has gone all milky.  It's not fun watching him get older and less vigorous, but I guess it happens to all of us.

Have lost a number of pets over the years.

Last week another old friend, age 15, was put to rest. Each time it is awful but know he went on to a better place.

Always difficult weighing not wanting to lose those family members versus the suffering they may be enduring. Have to go past being selfish at some point.
