Huge Roman coin hoard (story from BBC). Thousands and thousands of coins! Wow. I wonder if Lord Marcovan ever made it to Europe and if he did, did he bring his metal detector.  Wink

I saw that Carl.
These 52,500 bronze and silver coins were minted two hundred years after my avatar coin.
They were buried under duress is my guess although some historians reportedly say they may represent and an 'offering'.
I hope someday we get to see a  inventory published for this hoard.

Many coins in hte hoard bear the image of rebel emperor Carausius.
