2009 P Northern Mariana Island quarters are the lowest quarter mintages since 1961,As the recession continues will each coming year have lower mintages than this one ? Grin http://www.coinnews.net/2009/12/07/northern-mariana-islands-quarters-mintages-scarcest/ Will this intise coin collectors to puchase bags from the mint ?  Grin

 Shocked

Wow...  I dunno, but it might be a halfway decent gamble to invest in
a bag or two of them; that is, if they are still avail?

I will check.  Heck, I could stop buying the daily three for a couple of
months...

So..I visit the nice folks at the US Mint.  Aha!  Lots of them available..I order a bag of each.  Oh, and while I'm here, hmmm?
Some proof Prez dollars, some 2010 Shield P/D penny sets, and a couple of the 6 coin Silver Washington sets at just $29.00..
(and .95 cents change) All of that shipped to me for a paltry $4.95?  Wow.. Where else, huh?  BTW, the six coin silver quarter
sets are worth about $21 in melt value... A super deal, as long as AG remains the same, or even, ??

Yeah, I want one of those. Smiley

Still a coin with 35 million minted will not ever be scarce. It isn't like clad coins will become so valuable for the materials that they get melted down or anything... a huge melt is the only thing that could make these even slightly scarce, and I mean a HUGE meltdown...

I recently heard the rumor that the Islander fishermen are using these quarters as ballast in their fishing skiffs, and as weights
for their reef nets.  Once they are blessed by the head medicine man, they will bring much good luck fishing.  The P issue is
presently thought the better coin for water works.  The Denver issue, when packed into socks, and having a length of string
attached, are said to work best for bringing down coconuts, and for hunting lizards, and land crabs. Similar to the Argentinean
cowboy bolo. Very effective short range weapon.
